Slack Cottage - High Wray

The road to slack cottage is nothing short of a terrifying adventure. I definitelly woudl ve preferred red-carpet treatment after lugging my bags up all those stairs! If only I had received a complimentary gesture for such an unfortunate experience, I may have almost left a good review-but alas! What a shame.

The food is good and the breakfast was savoury. It has lovely location and free parking if needed. What's more, it's in a beautiful area next to the garden in the evenings as well as the "quiet shore" of Windermere.

Thanks all for a good stay for a get away from it all vacation.

The room had beautiful soft furnishings and lovely views. Take a walk outside to enjoy the gorgeous garden.

A Tranquil Retreat with Fine Views

The amazing view overlooking the lake made mornings magical. Liz's warm hospitality and Chris's helpfulness created a cute atmosphere. Don't miss the extensive breakfast menu. The cooked options were a highlight! Consider an early breakfast request.

What a beautiful cottage! The view of Lake Windermere was amazing, especially in the mornings. Chris and Liz were fantastic hosts, and the homemade breakfast was delicious. Our Beautiful King Room was cozy and impeccably clean. A perfect spot for a peaceful getaway 😍

I loved my stay, especially the amazing view of Lake Windermere from my room-waking up to that was magical! The breakfast was hearty and delicious, with great variety. The only downside was that the stairs felt like quite the workout after a long day exploring.

Slack cottage is a hidden gem! My beautiful king room had an extraordinary view of lake windermere and was beautifully decorated. The breakfast was excellent, with locally sourced ingredients. It was also very close to hawkshead, perfect for my plans. Liz and chris were wonderfully attentive!

Beautiful room, beautiful view, with an really good view looking directly onto the lake, made waking up a joy, and a great selection of breakfast options including delicious cooked dishes that fueled my day of exploration.

Such a lovely place with amazing views of the lake! The peaceful garden was a dream spot for relaxation, and I adored the comfy room.

But honestly, hauling my bags up those stairs felt more like a workout than a vacation. A complimentary bellhop would have been good!

My room had a multi-channel TV, a comfortable sitting area, and ironing facilities, the staff were friendly, and the English breakfast was amazing.

As a solo traveler, I really enjoyed the cozy and charming atmosphere of the cottage. the hosts were welcoming and kind, making me feel right at home. the views from my room were stunning, with a beautiful outlook over Windermere to Ambleside and the Fairfield Horseshoe. the location was peaceful and quiet, perfect for some relaxing walks right on the doorstep.

Felt so comfortable, no complaints whatsoever.
